Kimberly Ruggiero, Oil Painter

Kimberly Ruggiero came to art after a corporate career. In 2000, she began her formal art training at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, in Lyme, CT. In recent years she has won recognition for her intimate figurative paintings.

“Studying the people and places around me and translating that experience to canvas is transcending. It requires an intensity of focus and sensitivity to the subject that is both spiritual and deeply sensual.”

In September 2007, Kimberly opened the Ruggiero Gallery & Studio in Madison, CT to create a repository of contemporary art that is informed by, but not bound by, classic conventions of representational art.

Kimberly has received several awards for her figure paintings. Her work is found in private collections throughout New England and Florida.

A portion of gallery proceeds will support Lyme Disease research and education; a cause of critical importance to Ruggiero who battled severe undiagnosed neurological Lyme Disease.
