About the Instructor:
Jerry Weiss is an instructor of painting and drawing at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme and the Art Students League of NY. He received formal art training at the National Academy of Design, the Art Students League of NY and the Metropolitan Museum and Art Center, Miami, FL. His work is in many public and private collections, including the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, and The Florence Griswold Museum. www.jerrynweiss.com

Workshop Information:
- Typical workdays run from 9am to 4pm with lunch break and occasional demos and end-of-day critiques.
- Lunch at the Mercy Center cafeteria is included each day.
- Supplies should be kept to a comfortable minimum. Although demonstrations will be made in oils, you may work in any medium.
- There is considerable walking involved, and we will be outdoors in summer conditions-- please dress appropriately.
- 5 day workshops with an emphasis on drawing as a foundation for rapidly painted studies
- Composition, value, and color will be discussed in frequent individual critiques and painted demonstrations
- Students will paint on location and are encouraged to work on several small paintings each day. We may visit several sites.

• A deposit of $175 is due upon registration to hold your place. The remaining balance is due in full two weeks prior to the workshop. Payments can be made online or by check, payable to “Ruggiero Gallery” and mailed to address above.
